About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

We are delighted to invite you to an online networking session, across University of Glasgow and the international GUILD and CIVIS networks, to bring together researchers across Europe investigating the nature and spread of disinformation, as well as public understanding and opinion dynamics from a wide range of disciplinary perspectives.

These topics underpin the Horizon Europe 2025 Work Programme, particularly around the following sub-themes:

· Political polarisation, the rise of autocracy, and freedom of expression

· Public understanding and awareness for crime-prevention and disaster-preparedness

· Shaping public perceptions to address the biodiversity crisis, the transition to the circular economy and the adaption of farming practices

We would like to invite research colleagues from across University of Glasgow, and our Guild and CIVIS partners to join us online, on 23 May 2025, for a chance to share current research agendas on disinformation and the shaping of public understanding, and participate in light-touch networking discussions to make new connections.

Please register via the following link. Registrants will be prompted to let us know if they would like to present their research, and to pre-populate a Padlet tool with their areas of interest for discussion.

Queries can be sent to researchinitiatives@glasgow.ac.uk at any time.
