Hooks & Harmony
Get ready to vibe live with catchy tunes and cool beats at Hooks & Harmony—where music meets good vibes!
Hook, stitch, and relax! In this cozy, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll learn how to crochet your own small pouch step-by-step while unwinding to live piano performances of your favorite classical pop tunes. We’ll begin the evening with a gentle guided meditation to help you set an intention, settle in, and create within a safe, welcoming space for creativity and self-expression.
Facilitated by a licensed therapist, Sabrina Spotorno and certified music educator, Andrea Gonnella, the class blends crafting, music, and mindfulness while encouraging connection and community among participants. It’s a chance to slow down, meet like-minded people, and enjoy creating together in a supportive, relaxed atmosphere.
Crocheting itself offers calming health benefits, helping to reduce stress, improve focus, and promote a sense of accomplishment through rhythmic, hands-on creativity. Paired with live music, which can lower stress levels and deepen relaxation, this workshop offers a nourishing experience for both mind and body.
By the end of the evening, you’ll leave with a handmade pouch perfect for stashing your everyday essentials — lip balm, crystals, earbuds, affirmation cards, spare change, secret snacks, or whatever little items help you survive modern life with your sanity intact. All materials and guidance are provided, just come ready to create, unwind, and enjoy the evening.

Hi, I'm Sabrina, a clinical social worker, here to support you on your journey to recovery and positive change. My education from Adelphi University encompasses various therapy modalities such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Systemic Family Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. I believe in an integrative approach to recovery that's tailored to each individual.
I'm inspired by my clients who take brave steps towards healing and am honored to offer support and guidance. I approach therapy as a collaboration to connect with a client's inner wisdom and empower them to make choices that align with their values. My non-judgmental approach creates a safe, trusting environment where clients can feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and feelings. By tapping into your inner guidance, we will work together to sustain lasting changes in your life.
Andrea Gonnella
Multi-Instrumentalist, Sound Artist, Music & Mindfulness Educator
Andrea creates sound bath experiences as spontaneous, soulful compositions—each one a living soundscape designed to calm the mind and nourish the spirit. Her foundation in jazz, shaped through studies with legends such as Conrad Herwig, Pete McGuinness, and Jim McNeely, informs her approach to sound healing with a deep focus on harmony, improvisation, and emotional expression. Drawing on her experience as a public school music teacher and her background in leadership, Andrea designs meaningful, art-centered experiences rooted in the belief that participation in the arts offers profound health benefits for everyone.
