About this event
Honour Before Glory, directed by Anthony Sherwood, is a moving film about Canada’s one and only all-Black military battalion that was formed during World War I, affectionately known as the “Black Battalion.” Based on the diary of the battalion Chaplain, the film tells the story of the segregated battalion that allowed Black men who had previously been turned away by recruiters to enlist in the military. In honour of Remembrance Day, Hon. MP Anita Anand, Regional and Town Councillor Jeff Knoll and I will host a special screening of the documentary on November 9 at 6:30pm at Film.ca in Oakville. Director Anthony Sherwood will join us. There is no cost to attend the screening, but space is limited. This movie is suitable for all ages.
