About this event

The Honors Program invites you to a discussion of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice led by Prof. Jennifer Conary. One of the most famous and influential novels in Western literature, Pride and Prejudice continues to win the hearts of readers from around the world. Come discuss why this story remains so popular and why it has been adapted into so many cultural contexts, from Bollywood to Brazilian telenovelas to queer romances like Hulu's Fire Island (2022). Share your thoughts on what makes the story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy so enduring and why Austen remains one of the most beloved classic novelists for modern readers.
