About this event

The spring and summer seasons bring back memories of picking berries, making preserves, and freezing the fruit in heavy syrup. These homemade jams, jellies, and frozen fruits were enjoyed all year long. Today, many people are looking to enjoy simple pleasures that don't interfere with their commitment to cutting back on sugar.

The rise in obesity and diabetes has encouraged many people to seek healthier options for the foods they love. In this class we will learn 3 methods of preserving local fruits with little or no sugar. This is a hands-on food preservation class. Students will prepare fruit using all 3 methods.
