About this event

Lake County was Native American homeland for thousands of years before the Western Reserve came to be. Native American life was as rich with stories and experiences

At the Lake County History Center, our Native American program focuses on those who lived in our backyard, from the Paleo period to the Late Pre-historic Whittlesey culture. Artifacts enhance our unique Native American indoor classrooms. Outdoors, students experience hands-on learning: making pottery, grinding corn, gardening, throwing atlatls, and creating a take-home necklace.

Students are welcome to dress for the experience, although it is not required.

The program is targeted for grades 3-5, although students of all ages will enjoy the experience.
