The mission of Bruce Wood Dance is to present high–caliber, contemporary choreography that harnesses the power of dance to entertain, enrich, and heal. Hailed as Dallas’ “shining star” by Arts and Culture Texas, BWD is an award-winning contemporary dance company founded in 2010 by nationally acclaimed Texas artistic director and choreographer Bruce Wood (1960–2014). Bruce Wood Dance has been recognized as Best Dance Company by D Magazine in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2021 and Best of Dallas Voice 2014–2018 and 2020.

Homecoming features Wood&#x27;s audience favorites RED and Lovett!.Artistic director Joy Bollinger says, “Bruce Wood Dance is thrilled to come home to Fort Worth where the company originally resided. In the program are two works that Bruce Wood created during our time in Cowtown—RED and Lovett!.&quot;Intensely riveting, Bruce Wood&#x27;s RED keeps audiences on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. RED premiered at Fort Worth&#x27;s Bass Hall in 2001, immediately topping the list of his most beloved and iconic works.Bruce Wood’s quintessential Texas tribute, Lovett! is the most frequently requested dance in his repertoire. This perennial audience favorite has delighted crowds since its premiere at Bass Hall in 2000. Lovett! expresses Wood’s experiences working on ranches, raising horses, roping cattle, and rodeo riding.Online ticket sales end Saturday, Sept 17th at 6:00PM.
