The laughter is coming to Owego when Homebrewed Comedy hits the stage at the John Barleycorn on Wednesday, Sept. 4. Ellen Doyle is headlining the show and Jake Samson and Kevin Andrews are joining host Mike Peters.
The show starts at 7:30 p.m., and there's a recommended $5 donation at the door, which opens at 7. Come out and enjoy the show.
About the comedians:
Mike Peters, a Binghamton comedian, specializes in self-deprecating, observational humor. A contributor for Funny or Die, Peters is the founder of Homebrewed Comedy. He hosts at the Syracuse Funny Bone and Wise Crackers in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., won the Utica Brews Laugh Contest and Uptown Roast Battle and opened for Super Troopers’ Rabbit, Erik Stolhanske and Gilbert Gottfried. Peters produces shows all over New York and hosts his weekly podcasts, On the Mic with Mike Peters and It’s About Time: A Sopranos Watch Podcast.
Kevin Andrews is a stand-up comedian from Buffalo. He's performed all over western New York and produces several shows in the Buffalo area. When he's not on stage, he can be found binge eating because life's too short to not eat jalapeno poppers three times a week.
Jake Samson is a comedian and producer out of Buffalo. In addition to running the Rust Belt Comedy Showcase at Nietzsche’s every Tuesday, Samson won the Buffalo’s Funniest Person Contest in 2022. He likes his whiskey ginger ales and falls in love with all the guest performers the Strip Teasers have on the bar. He promises to bring some energy to the show.
Ellen Doyle was raised in Scranton and currently resides in Los Angeles. She’s been featured on stages across the United States, including The World Famous Comedy Store in Los Angeles and the Gotham Comedy Club in New York City. She performed at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland, the World Series of Comedy and headlines shows all across the country – really putting that dance degree to good use.
