Join us for an unforgettable weekend of music and memories as we celebrate the past, embrace the present, and harmonize towards the future. Our Holy Mountain Reunion promises to be an unforgetable gathering of voices that will transport you back to the cherished moments of the past 40 years of The Newwan Singers & Ensemble!

St. James Parish in Liberty, MO (Kansas City) is centrally located and has offered to be our host site of the event August 2-4, 2024. Opening in 2019, St. James is the home parish of alumni Marcy and Troy Sheeley and features plenty of room for our event including seating for nearly 1200 and beautiful acoustics. St. James has been host to the Newman Singers more than 10 times over the past 20 years!

Event Details:

Welcome Reception: Begin the weekend with a warm welcome reception on Friday where you can reconnect with old friends and fellow Newman Singers. Share stories, laughter, and your favorite anecdotes.

Liturgical Celebration: Just like the old days, celebrate Mass at our host parish and lead all the liturgies with Newman Singer favorites.

Choral Performance: Prepare for a spectacular performance Sunday afternoon featuring alumni spanning 5 decades! The harmonious blend of voices will resonate with the timeless music that has defined our legacy.

Memorabilia Display: Take a trip down memory lane as you peruse a display of pictures and memorabilia from your time with the group. Relive the magic through old photographs, concert programs, videos and other mementos. Everyone will be encouraged to contribute!

Director's Address: Our esteemed founder and director, Joe Mattingly, will share insights and reflections on the choir's journey over the past 40+ years. His guidance and passion have shaped our collective musical experience. He will share "what's next" as he retires from the Newman Center and embarks on a new era for his music.

Banquet Dinner: Indulge in a sumptuous dinner Saturday, followed by evening entertainment.

Farewell: As the weekend draws to a close, we'll bid each other farewell with the promise of future reunions. The bonds we've formed through music will always bring us together.

Kindly RSVP by May 1, 2024 for early bird pricing and to ensure we have ample accommodations and resources to make this reunion as successful as possible.

Pricing: $125 per alum and $225 per alumni couple. Each additional adult guest is $100 and children are $50. Meals will be provided except for Saturday and Sunday breakfast. Housing will be on your own, however host families may be provided for those that wish.
A hotel list with a block of rooms will be shared at checkout or you are free to book your own accommodations.

Holy Mountain Reunion is an opportunity to rekindle old friendships, celebrate the enduring power of music and our Catholic faith, and cherish the memories that continue to inspire us.
