The Hindu Student Council at Cornell University aims to bring the traditions and culture of Hinduism to Ithaca! We host weekly bhajans, as well as pujas for larger Hindu holidays. Our most popular event is Holi, the festival of colors. On Cornell's campus, we celebrate Holi with food, music, henna, and of course, rang (colored powder). Holi is the Spring festival of colors, love, and the harvest. Cross off one of Cornell's 161 Things To Do and join us in celebrating Holi every Spring semester on the Arts Quad! Dress for Mess!

Cornell Hindu Student Council

Holi is a Hindu festival to celebrate the arrival of spring! At Cornell, Holi is an outdoor party with vibrant rang (colored powder), great music, dancing, henna, and samosas!  HOLI IS ON MAY 5th, 1:30-4:30, ON THE ARTS QUAD! Tickets are $5! If you have any questions, contact a board member or message the Cornell Hindu Student Council page. The first 250 ticket buyers can sign up to get a free Cornell Holi 2018 t-shirt! Come ready for fun and dress for mess! See you there! And check off #157 on 161 Thing to Do at Cornell!  ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ FAQs ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Q: Is the rang toxic? Will it stain my clothes?  A: The rang is completely NON-TOXIC and will not harm the environment! We will also have EMT on site as a precautionary measure. While the rang will wash off clothing, we recommend that you come in attire that you do not mind getting messy! Wearing white will show off the rang well!  Q: Can I bring my own colored powder/water balloons/etc?  A: We will provide you with plenty of rang! We will not permit any outside paraphernalia, so please refrain from bringing anything into the enclosed area.  Q: Is this event open to the entire community?  A: This event is open to the Cornell-affiliated community. Outside guests may attend provided they are accompanied by a member of the Cornell community.  Q: Is it safe to bring my camera/phone?  A: Yup! Though, we ask that you exercise caution when using cameras or cellphones and prevent getting rang on them. If you take an awesome picture, share it with us using #CUHoli2018. We will also have a hired photographer on the premises to document the event! We are not responsible for any lost or stolen property.  Q: What do I do if I lost something during the event?  A: Visit the Lost and Found at our entry table  Cornell Holi 2018 is brought to you by the Hindu Student Council with support from SAFC and ISU.
