Join us for dinner and learn how to communicate effectively via text with your T1 to easily calculate insulin doses for meals. We'll even provide an emoji guide to help you along the way! 📸👍💙
Under a Hodia-controlled environment, kids and parents will be separated at either end of the restaurant. Assisted by trained staff, kids will be allowed to order their own food and learn to effectively communicate (with fun emojis) what they’re eating. On the other end, parents will be guided in their response to get to the end goal: your child bolusing correctly for the meal they’re eating!
Now is the time to practice independence while meeting new Hodia families and friends!
Ages 6+ encouraged to attend. T1D must have a cell phone. T1D must be comfortable independently drawing and administering their own insulin dose as well as check their own sugars.
$10 per family! Dinner is provided by Panera Bread. See full menu here! If your family has diet restrictions/allergies and do not see any food options available , families are welcome to bring their own food to this event.
