NOW HALF OFF!

The price for "History and Harmony: a Broadway MasterClass" has been slashed from $89 to $44. This is a unique virtual experience every Sunday in April and May 2024, from 4 pm to 5 pm ET that delves deep into the heart of Broadway's musical and historical evolution. Though the course is taught at an advanced level and moves rapidly, no music theory training or Broadway history background is necessary. The course is a dynamic blend of education and entertainment, offered exclusively on Zoom.

This masterclass is structured into two parts: a half-hour dedicated to unraveling the complexities of music theory with Mateo Chavez Lewis, followed by a deep dive into Broadway's historical context with David Benkof for the remaining time. It's a perfect opportunity for those eager to understand the intricate relationship between music and storytelling on the Broadway stage.

HARMONY: What are the key music theory concepts you need to understand to truly appreciate the great works of musical theatre? How does music tie into storytelling? This masterclass aims to explore how the basics of music—harmony, melody, tempo, rhythm, and dynamics—are masterfully used in Broadway's greatest works to unveil layers of storytelling like never before. Taught from Mateo Chavez Lewis's piano, the music component will feature an array of examples from the musical theatre canon, providing a hands-on approach to music theory and ear training that's both engaging and informative.

HISTORY: Simultaneously, dive into the rich tapestry of Broadway's history with David Benkof, The Broadway Maven, who will provide an in-depth look at key milestones from the birth of the modern musical in the late 1920s to today's hits like Hamilton. This exploration will not only highlight the genre's significant growth but will also contextualize Broadway productions within American history, offering insights into how these shows mirror and influence societal changes over time.

Normally priced at $89 but with a last-minute half-off discount to $44, this masterclass promises to be an enriching experience, blending musical theory with historical insights to provide a comprehensive understanding of Broadway's legacy and its impact on culture and society. It's music theory and Broadway history like you've never heard it taught before!
