Join us for a week long summer camp learning about YOUR community! Kids from age 8-12 can join us for five mornings of fun, with daily snacks and items to take home! History Adventure Summer Camp will run Monday through Friday from 9am until Noon (12pm) each day.

Our week long schedule includes:

-A Day of fun at the Baldwin-Reynolds House Museum, including a tour, learning to play croquet, making butter, and snacking on baked goods based on historic recipes!

-A Day of fun at the Dr. Mosier Medical Museum and our Gardens on the grounds of the Baldwin-Reynolds House Museum, learning about medical history, gardening, beekeeping, pollinators, and learning historic outdoor games!

-A Day with John and Cinda Sites of the 150th PA Bucktails Civil War Reenactors. John will dress volunteers up as soldiers and discuss what gear they would have used, battlefield relics, and more and Cinda will dress up volunteers as young ladies of the time period (1860s), teach children's games, the language of "the fan," and maybe even a few Civil War era dance steps!

-A Day at the Johnson-Shaw Stereoscopic Museum leaning about the Keystone View Company, predecessor to the famous kid's toy, the "ViewMaster," learning how 3D works, making their own stereoview cards, and even taking home their own ViewMaster to keep. Weather and time permitting, we may take a history tour of Diamond Park!

-A Day at Greendale Cemetery, taking a tour of our community's former residents, exploring the trails, and going on a scavenger hunt to learn about the people who made Crawford County special.

Notes: Camp is open to students from 8-12 years old. All volunteers and employees will have background checks in advance for safety and peace of mind purposes. Parent or guardian is responsible for drop off and pick up of students each day. Drop off and pickup locations will vary by day and will be relayed with a full schedule to participants via email the week prior to camp in case schedule changes are required due to weather forecasts.
