Step out of time into the fantasy architecture and lush gardens of Greater Orlando’s only National Historic Landmark, the Maitland Art Center. Now home to the Art & History Museums of Maitland, the Maitland Art Center was founded in the 1930s by visionary artist J. André Smith as an artists’ retreat. On this guided walking tour, you’ll pass thousands of sculptures, carvings, and murals while hearing fascinating stories about the history they represent. This tour is appropriate for all ages but most engaging for ages 12 and up.

The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) is a premier cultural destination and community gathering place in Central Florida, about 15 minutes from downtown Orlando. A&H is a group of sophisticated attractions that includes a contemporary art museum, 3 interactive history museums, and a stunning campus recognized as Central Florida's only National Historic Landmark. Founded in 1937 as an artists’ retreat, our space still fulfills this mission today with multiple artist residencies serving both local and international artists.
