About this event

Difficulty: Moderate / Some Steep Inclines (Cross Fells Trail)

Appropriate for: Everyone who feels comfortable hiking at a slow pace over some rooty / rocky trails with some steep inclines

Leaders: Carol Andrulli & Jeff Adams

About Carol and Jeff: Carol & Jeff are avid outdoor enthusiasts who’ve been enjoying the natural world for 50 years. They live in Stoneham, MA & are members of the Friends of the Fells, The Trustees, Mass Audubon, Sudbury Valley Trustees, Acton Conservation Trust, Essex Greenbelt and The Massachusetts Archaeological Society, Inc. They have been hiking in the Fells for over 30 years & frequently participate in numerous hiking/nature programs.

About the hike: Please join Carol & Jeff on a stroll, this time from the Kiosk @ the Flynn Rink Parking Lot to the Cross Fells Trail to the Pickerel Path around Spot Pond to the Botume House and back. The hike will have some initial steep gradients and we’ll have a “sweep” to ensure we all stay together for the hike. We recommend wearing sturdy shoes, a hat, and long pants. Please be mindful that ticks are out so tucking pants into socks is a good strategy along w/ bug repellent. Bringing a water bottle along with a hiking pole (if needed) is also recommended.

Steady rain or stormy winds cancels.
