About this event

  • 1 hour

The Presidents Forum, Skills First Coalition, and Business Roundtable cordially invite you to a policy briefing and a reception. We are bringing together key higher education and industry leaders to discuss pressing issues facing higher education and workforce development in the age of accelerated adoption of artificial intelligence (AI).

The briefing will feature an insightful panel discussion on the need to modernize federal policies, including WIOA, workforce Pell, and competency-based education while advancing a skills-based economy, and workforce alignment to meet the demands of both workers and employers.

As technology adoption accelerates, reskilling, upskilling, and lifelong learning programs must be strengthened in the short term and in the coming years. The panel will discuss the need for policy to keep pace with innovation on a variety of fronts including short-term credentials, skills as a foundational unit of education, the need to embrace competency-based education, and the impact of artificial intelligence on education and the workforce.

Please RSVP by May 6 to join us for the briefing in the Dirksen Senate Office Building room B48.
