Welcome to High Voltage at the Electric Lodge! Join us for a variety show like no other. Featuring the talents of: <ul><li>Straight Up Abilities</li><li>Rudy Perez Performance Ensemble</li><li>Jennifer Jonassen</li></ul>8:00 PM on Friday, April 5th, 2024. Electric Lodge's Kelman Theatre. Tickets are $15. Please note: Due to unforeseen circumstances, Anet-Margot Ris-Kelman will not be able to perform in this High Voltage as originally schedule. We look forward to hosting Anet-Margot again in the future! <ul><li>Straight Up Abilities - Dance Performance</li></ul>Straight Up Abilities is a professional performance art training program that helps students of all abilities gain confidence, have fun, and dance. Their performances and classes are for everyone, and they pride themselves on creating more inclusion in classrooms. SUPA has performed with the Royal Ballet, at the Disney Special Olympics, The Music Center, and more. <ul><li>Rudy Perez Performance Ensemble - Tribute (2024)</li></ul>The Rudy Perez Performance Ensemble lost their mentor last year. They have woven together a collage of his masterpieces over the years as a tribute to this historical legend. Pieces remembered range from one of his first works in 1963 “Take Your Alligator With You” to one of his last, “Slate in Three Parts” from 2015. Members of the company have worked with this Master for over thirty years. The Ensemble wishes to share the excitement and theatrical rebelliousness of Rudy Perez and the wonderful catalog of works he has left the Dance World. <ul><li>Jennifer Jonassen - Hard Hugo</li></ul>One person’s trash is another’s treasure. Or is it? Catalyzed by her mother’s death “Hard Hugo” is an exploration of holding on and letting go. Set against the landscape of hoarding, diabetes and death, performance artist Jennifer Jonassen probes personal traumas while also questioning the altars of consumerism, the pharmaceutical industry, overflowing landfills and the ideology that everything is disposable and can be easily replaced.
