Professor Jeff’s humble beginnings growing up in rural East Texas in a four (4) room home with 12 siblings, without electricity, running water, indoor plumbing, television, telephone, automobiles and his family raised all their food (vegetables, chickens & hogs), father was illiterate (could not read or write), father signed Jeff's birthday certificate with a "X", Jeff attended segregated school until the seventh grade, Jeff's family had a 50% high school graduations rate; this is Jeff's foundation that grounded him in a life committed to serving others and a Growth Mindset to fulfill his God given purpose and help others grow to their full potential.  

Jeff served in the United States Air Force from Apr 1977 to October 2002 in key leadership roles. While serving his country, Jeff was a Combat Security Police Instructor, Human Resources Manager, FranklinCovey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Facilitator, Honorary Colonel Arkansas State Police, Honorary Member Arkansas Highway Police, and a Certified Arkansas Law Enforcement Instructor in Rapid Response Special Weapons & Tactics.

Since May 2003, Professor Jeff has been an University Professor facilitating undergraduate leadership, communication and humanities courses. From November 2006 until December 2020, Jeff was an high school Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor transforming the lives of high school students teaching value-based, character-based, communication courses and leadership courses. Because of his dedication to youth, Jeff was selected as Region 3 Air Force Junior ROTC Instructor of the Year for school year 2015/2016. As a WAVE Youth Leadership Ambassador, Jeff continues to serve, lead, empower, coach and mentor students, teachers, parents, leaders, professionals, and leadership teams throughout the United States and globally.
