Before registering, make sure to have the following information available:

  • Mailing address of the class attendee
  • Driver license number of the class attendee
  • The number of the citation
  • The name of the court who directed you to take this class
  • The address of the court who directed you to take this class

Check in for this class will begin at 8:30am on the day of the class. All attendees must check in by 9:25am.

Same-day registration will not be allowed.

Frequently asked questions

Can I sign up for the class when I check in?

No. All attendees must register at least 24 hours prior to the start of the class.

Can I pay when I check in?

No. Payment must be made at the time of registration.

I may be a few minutes late to the start of class. Is that OK?

No. To avoid interruptions, we will not allow anyone to enter once the class begins at 9:30am.

How will the court know that I have taken this class?

After the class, Salem Health staff will send exam scores to the referring courts. This process usually takes a week or so. You can check in with the court about seven days after the class.

Do you have an online version of this course?

Yes! We have a virtual option of this course available. Please go back to the main events page for the Community Health Education Center and click on "Virtual: High Risk Driver Course." That program is entirely online and results are sent to courts on the 1st and 3rd Friday of each month.

The mission of the Community Health Education Center (CHEC) is to inform and empower patients, families, community members, and hospital staff by providing accurate health information. Visiting the CHEC can be an important step in finding health information, wellness programs, and services in our community.

CHEC services are available to anyone in our community, regardless of whether they are currently a patient at Salem Hospital.

The CHEC is open Mondays through Fridays from 8am to 5pm and can be reached by phone at 503-814-2432 or by email at CHEC@salemhealth.org

Scholarships: Financial assistance is available to those who need help to attend our programs. We may be able to offer a discount and/or waive registration costs depending on the situation. Please call our staff if you need assistance. (Court Mandated Classes are not eligible for scholarships)

Refund Policy: We will allow refunds if requested at least seven days prior to the first class session. Any refund requests made less than seven days before the first class session may be granted in the event of a medical or personal emergency. No refunds will be given once a program begins. In the event of program cancellation, the CHEC will automatically issue a refund to all attendees.
