About this event

Fresh from the Asheville Fringe Festival, Shelby Hofer returns to the new PushPush cafe stage for a special Mother's Day Weekend performance of this award-winning show.

Lenora is on a mission, but her not-so-inner child is bursting with irreverent questions about sex, DNA, ADD, boners, and babies — where they come from, how they get here, and mostly, how she can get one. With maddening advice from her sex-ed teacher, a mysterious doctor, and a bunch of ill-mannered dolls, Lenora and Honey are propelled from the motorcycle to a train on an outrageous adventure to Ukraine. A comedic rollercoaster about taking big chances, even if they fail, High Risk, Baby! Is an autobiofictional tale about one woman’s epic journey to motherhood.

“A rich tapestry of mediums and concepts that never misses a beat”Helena de Moura, Casa Forte Publishing
"I don’t have enough superlatives to describe this performance…funny, engaging, highly professional, and full of energy. And she keeps the audience on its toes with spicy Q&As as she sorts through the whole fertility thing.”Garland Watkins, PushPush Patron
"Mothers, daughters, and the boys and men they love should all see this show! Not only will it crack you up, everyone will learn a thing or two!"
Dakota Miles, 7 Stages Patron
