The North Carolina Wildlife Federation has a new Community Wildlife Chapter forming… High Country Wild! Join us as we get together to celebrate with a nature walk at Brookshire Park in Boone. The walk will begin on a peaceful and paved path that winds through wetland and meadow habitat along the South Fork of the New River. As we venture deeper, the trail transforms into a maintained woodland path, ascending 275 feet into a deciduous hardwood forest. This is a great opportunity to explore an area with an abundance of wildlife including native plants in full bloom and migratory birds showing off their vibrant breeding plumage. Chapter leaders will guide the walk and we'll all work together to identify wildlife while having fun along the way!

Around 12 PM after the walk, we will gather at Booneshine Brewery for drinks and conversation. This event is a great opportunity to get involved with High Country Wild and learn about their work for habitat and wildlife in Ashe and Watauga Counties. Each participant will receive one free drink ticket courtesy of High Country Wild. See you there!
