Hidden Figures Advanced Screening

NSBE Jr. of Southern California is one of NSBE's newest chapters and was started by parents who were eager to have year-round STEM programming for their elementary- and middle school-aged children. Like NSBE Jr. chapters across the country, the Southern California chapter provides students in grades 3–8 with fun, educational STEM activities and events through NSBE’s Pre-College Initiative program. Throughout the year, NSBE Jr. So. Cal. will host competitions, activities, guest speakers, and field trips that help our students discover firsthand how engineering and technology relate to the world around them and discover the excitement of academic excellence, leadership, technical development and teamwork.

Join us for this special Advanced Screening of Hidden Figures. 
Hidden Figures is the incredible, untold story of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan and Mary Jackson, brilliant African-American women working at NASA who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit!! Their contribution to this monumental moment in space history is a stunning achievement that restored the nation's confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world. The visionary trio crossed all gender and race lines to inspire generations to dream big. 
Please join us as we celebrate these amazing women and raise money to benefit NSBE Jr. of Southern California, the new generation of mathematicians and engineers.
