About this event

Hi Island Engineers Group Nov. Meeting

Melissa May, AICP and Rachael Han, EIT from SSFM International will present an overview of various state and county initiatives to integrate climate change impacts and resilience considerations into Hawaii's development standards and regulations. Through a case study of the North Shore of Oahu, they will identify sea level rise (SLR) adaptation options for coastal development and assess the costs and trade offs of different types of retreat. A discussion about how codes and regulations are evolving across Hawaii will help build our capacity as design and planning professionals to integrate resilience into more projects.

Time: 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m., presentation will start at 5:00pm.

Charge: $15 per person
