**A NOTE ABOUT NON-SERVICE DOGS**

We love our non-service dogs as most of you love yours, but for the safety of all of our participants and volunteers, we ask that you refrain from bringing your non-service dogs to our event. Under the ADA, a service animal is defined as a dog that has been individually trained to do work or perform tasks for an individual with a disability. The task(s) performed by the dog must be directly related to the person's disability. This does not include emotional support, therapy, comfort, or companion animals. These terms are used to describe animals that provide comfort just by being with a person. Because they have not been trained to perform a specific job or task, they do not qualify as service animals under the ADA and are not allowed at our events.

Organized by

Heroes On the Water, a 501(c)(3) veterans charity, creates alternative therapeutic programs to serve veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders and their families. These experiential programs incorporate structured activities proven to improve the lives of these men and women. Each experience reduces the impact of post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury while providing much-needed camaraderie and support.

Our programs are proven to be effective and provide heroes with a way to positively improve their lives, enhance their family dynamic, and impact their community.
