Discover the hidden lives of insects in this fascinating photography exhibition by British-Canadian artist, G L Barrett.
You see them every day as they flutter, buzz and scurry by.
They're the unseen neighbours who make sure your flowers are pollinated, eat the pests that threaten your food, and feed the birds that greet you each morning.
Insects of all shapes, sizes, and colours contribute significantly to our world. Despite this, we're losing them at a shocking rate.
British-born G L Barrett is on a mission to highlight the species found in and around Prince Edward County, aiming to raise awareness of the importance of these oft-overlooked creatures. Taking a portrait-style photographic approach, their subjects are shown from a different angle, one that goes beyond the super-macro to offer an insight into the lives of these, our unseen neighbours.
Over the past two years, G L Barrett's art has featured in over a dozen shows, from Kingston to Hamilton. Now, for the first time, they have curated a special collection of works from their impressive portfolio for a solo art show. Artworks included in the show highlight a diverse range of insects, and many will be available to purchase in various formats.
