The Sweet Studio is the new space for creatives in Colorado Springs to get crafty. We aim to bring the community together in the world of sweet boutique crafts from Make Your Own Bouquet workshops to candle-making classes, and everything in between.Sweetwater Flower Market partners with various Colorado artists, stocking many local self care goods and home items on the shelves of our boutique shops. You may find several of these artists hosting their own workshops at the Sweet Studio for a chance to meet and learn from them!In the Sweet Studio, Sweetwater florists host workshops for making your own bouquet or making your own wreath. They are the experts in showing individuals how to be a wildflower in a field of roses through guiding you to create something you are proud to bring home. Our partners include many artists from the community, including wedding stylists, macrame masters, candle-making experts, and more. Our goal with the Sweet Studio is to welcome all creatives, novices and old pros, to expand the sweet experience of creating something with your own two hands across the community.Enter the Sweet Studio for our workshops, which you can sign up for on our Events page. All you need to do is show up ready to be creative! All necessary tools and resources will be provided in the price of the workshop, which vary by class. Did you know every basket ever made in this world is made by hand? There is no machine to make a basket.

Join Sandi Moede and Sweetwater Flower Market in crafting a hand woven basket from start to finish. This months basket is called "Herb Basket". A solid wood handle. The basket measures 16"x8x3. Basket color is natural reed. Sandi will provide tips for staining it if you would like to dye the basket a different color. The basket is made of flat reed and is a sturdy basket that has multiple uses.A complete basket can be made in a few hours (not sitting in a closet waiting to be finished!) and it will be something to be used and not just sit on a shelf collecting dust. And the joy and sense of accomplishment that YOU made this will make you smile!Tickets are limited, so be sure to reserve yours today!Workshop includes:<ul><li>A seat in our lovely studio</li></ul><ul><li>An apron to wear during the workshop to protect your clothes from damp reeds</li></ul><ul><li>Personalized instruction</li></ul><ul><li>Tools</li></ul><ul><li>Basket supplies</li></ul><ul><li>A gorgeous 16x8x3 herb basket to take home!</li></ul>Ticket cost: $85/person + sales tax and EventBrite fee*Note: No prior experience in basket weaving is necessary, however the basket does require focus and ability to weave with two hands. Class participation is for ages 18 and up.*Comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting damp are encouraged.

Sandi Moede is a Colorado Springs native. Several years ago she took a basket weaving class like this one and knew that this would become a passion. She has made countless baskets and loves to share this ability with others. A complete basket can be made in a few hours (not sitting in a closet waiting to be finished!) and it will be something to be used and not just sit on a shelf collecting dust.
