About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Buster isn't feeling it today. Is he depressed, you wonder? Upset over something you can't figure out? Only yesterday, he was so excitable that you could barely keep up with him. So, what in the world is going on with him today?

Please join us for this deep dive into your dog's amazing brain mechanisms that regulate their levels of excitement, anticipation and motivation. At the end of this workshop webinar, you will have a much better understanding of your dog's low dopamine days, as you will learn about dopamine depletion, dopamine baseline, adictive properties of dopamine and so much more.

Your presenters are Scott Stauffer, Diana Kastner and Alyssa Giles, the original ADB Team and founders of Affective Dog Behavior.

Affective Dog Behavior is a CARE-centered program that was created by K9 Life Coach Scott Stauffer. Throughout his career of 25 years, working with groups of dogs and reactive and aggressive dogs, as well as walking dogs professionally, Scott has developed a unique way of engaging with dogs which eventually led to the creation of ADB. In his capacity as a K9 Life Coach, he travels the lower 48s to assist other canine professionals, doggie daycares, rescues and dog walkers, as well as private individuals with their educational and training needs.

Diana was born and raised in Germany but has made her home in the US for the past 29 years. Though, working with dogs is not her primary occupation, she has been involved in rescue work for a number of years and has recently earned two diplomas - one in "Force free canine coaching" and another in "Rescue dog cognition and rehabilitation" through Canine Principles. Not only is Diana actively involved in all aspects of Affective Dog Behavior, but, through her affiliation with ADB, she has also turned into somewhat of an Affective Neuroscience geek.

In 2008, Alyssa graduated with her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, focusing on Applied Behavior Analysis. She began dog training with the philosophy to create a positive experience for both dog and human. When she became a mom in 2012, her perspective on what was best for dogs was evolving. Her curiosity about canine emotions finally prompted her to reach out to Scott Stauffer and join the ADB team. Alyssa now strives to help dog owners resolve conflict by connecting with their dogs and meeting their social-emotional needs.
