McEvoy Foundation for the Arts presents exhibitions and events that engage, expand, and challenge themes present in the McEvoy Family Collection. Established in 2017, McEvoy Arts creates an open, intimate, and welcoming place for private contemplation and public discussion about art and culture. Rooted in the creative legacies of the San Francisco Bay Area, McEvoy Arts embodies a far-reaching vision of the McEvoy Family Collection’s potential to facilitate and engage conversations on the practice of contemporary art. McEvoy Arts invites artists, curators, and thinkers with varied perspectives to respond to the Collection. Each year, these collaborations produce exhibitions in the Foundation’s gallery, new media programs in the Screening Room, as well as many film, music, literary, and performing arts events each year. Exhibitions are free and open to the public.

A radical sci-fi fantasy of Otherness and communication told through a live performance and video game.

<h3>About the Performance</h3>Genevieve Quick’s Hello World focuses on CETI (Celadonian ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence), a research consortium that facilitates communication between Planet Celadon and Earth. As the narrative unfolds through live performance and a video game, the performers encounter a black hole, the multiverse, and communication outages that the scientists attempt to remedy.Hello World blurs the boundaries between live performance and gaming, extending Quick’s exploration of global identity and politics in media-based practices. With a cast of all self-identified Asian American women, the video game offers a two-way channel between earth and the multiverse, a bridge across time, and a metaphor for the Asian diaspora.The event will also feature the live performance of a new musical score by Adria Otte and Gabby Wen. Hello World is commissioned by McEvoy Arts.

<h3>Health &amp; Safety</h3>Our highest priority is to ensure that your visit is safe, comfortable, and inspiring. Face coverings are required for all visitors age two and older while in the building and capacity is reduced for events.

<h3>Box Office</h3>Advance and Walk-Up TicketsThe box office opens 60 minutes prior to the event’s published start time for Will Call and walk-up sales. Doors open for seating 30 minutes prior to start time. The box office remains open for 15 minutes after the event has started. If available, walk-up tickets are sold at the General Admission price.SeatingAll seats are general admission and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Ticket holders should arrive 10 minutes prior to showtime to be guaranteed a seat.Sold-out EventsIn the case of sold-out events, a standby line will form for those without advance tickets. Standby tickets will be released on a first-come basis depending on how many seats are available after ticket holders are admitted.All sales are final. Programs are subject to change without notice. Refunds may be offered in the rare case of program cancellations.
