Hellbender on the River is the Compact’s annual evening of live music and incredible food hosted at the Platz at Neuhoff District in Germantown. Join us to celebrate water – and Tennessee’s most iconic salamander – with friends old and new.

Frequently asked questions

Can I park at the venue?

There is a paid parking garage at Neuhoff across the street from Monday Night Brewing. Parking in the garage costs $6 per hour. Surrounding parking lots are also paid lots with varying hourly rates.

Are there free parking options?

There is free street parking on a first come, first served basis in the surrounding area. Guests are encouraged to bike, walk, or scooter to the event. Bike racks are available at Neuhoff, and the venue is off the Cumberland River Greenway.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

Handicapped parking spots are available in the parking garage. The elevators on the Monroe Street side of the parking garage open up directly into the venue. The event venue is one level only.

Is there a dress code?

There is no formal dress code at this casual event. Fun and festive outfits are encouraged!

Is there an age restriction?

All ages are welcome to attend. However, all adult patrons must present a valid ID at check-in to receive a wristband to access the bar. Those under 21 and/or without valid ID will forfeit access to alcoholic drinks from the open bar.

What is a hellbender?

The eastern hellbender is the Cumberland River Compact’s mascot! This Cumberland River basin dweller is the largest salamander in North America and thrives only in pristine waters - and populations are on the decline. Attending supports the quality of their habitat in an ever-changing environment.
