Enter the gates of the Venice Ghetto of the 17th century and go on a journey of dominance, separation, and survival that spirals down through the pits of Gehenna. hell prepared: a ritual exorcism inspired by kabbalistic principles, performed within a dominant cultural context takes place in multiple locations on the campus of the Philosophical Research Society, allowing you to be immersed in the secluded world of the Ghetto and dissolve into places beyond the corporeal.
Featuring a landscape of choreographed movement, poetic text, shadow puppetry, and choral scoring, hell prepared follows a spiritual leader as he endeavors to exorcise the dominant culture and its influence on his world. In the process, he is driven down through the pits of hell where he sees visions of a challenging past and an uncertain future.

FAQs
Tickets for all remaining performances of hell prepared are sold out. If you would still like to see the show, you may come in person and sign up on the standby list when the gates open. How do I get on the standby list? If you would like to try to attend a sold out show, you can come to The Philosophical Research Society on the night of the performance and sign up – in person – on our standby list. For each evening, the standby list will be started 1/2 hour before curtain (7:30 on Friday and Saturday; 6:30 on Sunday) at the Los Feliz gate. At show start time (8:00 pm on Friday and Saturday; 7:00 pm on Sunday) any unclaimed tickets will be released to the standby list in order of sign up. You must be present at the time your name is called to receive the released tickets. Can you accommodate late arrivals? Unfortunately, we cannot. This is an immersive show and late seating will disrupt other audience members. Tickets not claimed promptly by show time will be released to standby purchasers. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for late arrivals. 
Do I need to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes. Please be prepared to show your ticket at the door. 
Is the show appropriate for all ages? 
This performance contains some adult content. Parental discretion is advised. 
Is there parking?
The Philosophical Research Society has a small parking lot which will be available on a first come, first served basis. There is additional street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.
Can I buy tickets at the door?
Yes, you can purchase tickets at the door for $30 each. Purchased in advance, general admission tickets are $25, so there is an advantage to buying in advance. Students, seniors, and union members receive $5 off their tickets with ID whether purchasing at the door or in advance.
I am a member of a labor union. Do I get a discount?
Yes. If you are a member of any AFL-CIO or entertainment labor union or guild, you can select "union member" for a $5 discount when purchasing your ticket. This $5 discount also applies to tickets purchased at the door. Please be prepared to show your member ID at the door.
I am a student. Do I get a discount?
Yes. If you are a student, you can select "student" for a $5 discount when purchasing your ticket. This $5 discount also applies to tickets purchased at the door. Please be prepared to show your student ID at the door.
Is there a senior discount?
Yes. If you are a senior (55 + over), you can select "senior (55+)" for a $5 discount when purchasing your ticket. This $5 discount also applies to tickets purchased at the door.
Is the performance space wheelchair accessible?
Yes. While there are a few steps on the campus, there are ramps available between the parking lot and all performance spaces.
