Heart Island Conservation Area
Strawn Tract, White Trail
Parking and trailhead at 6340 Lake Winona Rd., DeLeon Springs, FL
Note that this will be a slightly longer hike than most chapter field trips. This hike through sandhill & other habitats will be mainly following the white trail in the Strawn Track and total about 1-1/2 miles.
Bring plenty of water, your preferred sun and bug protection, clothing appropriate for the weather and comfortable walking shoes for sandy trails (closed footware recommended). Note there are no restrooms on the property. The closest public restrooms are at Lake Diaz on Hwy 11.
