More importantly, how it impacts the user’s sense of immersion and overall user experience? AWE Nite LA is excited to bring together top industry talent to break it all down so you won’t have to wonder anymore. This panel of award winning audiophiles, sound engineers, product designers and ground breaking innovators will share the current and impending future landscape of spatial audio in the context of traditional digital media, enterprise XR, experiential installations.

Haiden McGill, ModeratorNoctvrnalHaiden McGill is a creative technologist working at the intersection of business + product development for emerging technology startups, with an emphasis on augmented reality, XR training for enterprise, and experiential installations. They are a co-founder at Noctvrnal, a creative agency based in Los Angeles that specializes in spatial audio and interaction design for XR. Their work has led to several award-winning projects, including laurels from AT&amp;T Innovation Lab, MIT Media Lab, and OC6.

Philip RosedaleHigh FidelityPhilip Rosedale is the cofounder and CEO of High Fidelity, which recently released an API that allows developers to integrate its patented real-time spatial audio — originally developed for immersive VR experiences — into their apps, games, and websites. In 1995, Rosedale created FreeVue, one of the first internet videoconferencing apps, which was acquired by RealNetworks. He founded Linden Lab in 1999, the creators of Second Life, which has become a home for millions of people and has a multi-billion dollar virtual economy. Philip holds a B.S. in Physics from University of California, San Diego.

Jacqueline Bošnjak Q Department, Mach1Q Department is an award winning sound production studio that specializes in original music, sound design, mixing and audio post-production across multiple mediums. Mach1 is a sound technology focused on spatial audio for VR, AR and other interactive mediums. Advertising Age's Creativity50 The most influential creative figures for 2019 featured founders Dražen and Jacqueline Bošnjak for Mach1's contributions to the field of spatial audio. Mach1 is a recipient of the Advanced Imaging Society Lumiere Technology Award for the Mach1 Spatial System. Bošnjak is also founded MadWomenXR A breakfast club connecting leading ladies in entertainment and technology.

Eric PulierVATOM IncEntrepreneur, technologist, published author, columnist, public speaker, philanthropist, and founder of over fifteen companies, Eric Pulier has raised hundreds of millions of dollars for ventures he has founded or co-founded and achieved a wide variety of liquidity events including acquisitions, IPOs, ICOs, and successful mergers. A sampling of ventures Mr. Pulier has founded, co-founded, or funded include: Digital Evolution, US Interactive, Media Platform, Akana, Desktone, ServiceMesh, the Enterprise Cloud Leadership Council, vAtomic Systems Inc., Epics, BLOCKv, and Varius Solutions. Mr. Pulier is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Harvard University where he was an editor and author of a weekly column for the Harvard Crimson.

Alice BoydStaging Change is a UK-based composer and sound designer. She is one of Sound and Music’s New Voices composers 2020, supported by Arts Council England, the Garfield Weston Foundation and PRS Foundation.Like many in the UK’s theatre industry, the pandemic created a movement towards online forms of immersive art. For Alice, this includes binaural audio series, ‘Land Skeins’ (OnComm nominee), supported by National Youth Theatre, Paines Plough and BBC Writersroom. As part of award-winning theatre company Poltergeist, she is producing a 360˚ VR experience with Battersea Arts Centre and LIVR, as well as an immersive sound walk.

Joel DouekECCO VRCo-founder of VR/AR sound &amp; music company ECCO VR, Joel Douek is an award winning composer and sound designer whose work has brought many top Virtual Reality, film and television experiences to life. Born in London, England, Douek draws heavily on his background in music and neuroscience to guide &amp; innovate the use of sound to bring meaning, realism and emotion to the world of XR and other media.  His VR work has featured in experiences for major Hollywood studios, documentarian Ken Burns, Lionsgate, NBC, Turner Media, JauntVR, Conservation International, and many others.
