Local middle and high school students are invited to Clark College to discover Healthcare Academic Pathways from 8:30am to 3:30pm on June 24th - 26th.

Each day, “campers” will participate in interactive hands-on Healthcare Pathway academic program activities with college professors. Each group of campers will have a Clark College student ambassador guide; these ambassadors are successfully pursuing a degree and can advise campers on starting college at Clark. Campers will learn about the healthcare degrees available at Clark College, along with resources and opportunities available to college students through fun activities and will recieve some free swag! Breakfast and lunch is included, and each camper can invite up to two family members to join the final lunchtime celebration from 1:00 – 3:30 pm on Wednesday.


Program Agenda:

8:30 am – 9:30 am, Monday - Wednesday: Welcome and Registration

  • Breakfast, Ice Breakers, Opening Remarks and Guest Speaker: Dr. Rayna Strong.

10:00 am – 3:30 pm, Monday - Wednesday: Each group of students will rotate through each of the Healthcare Programs and study area sessions, led by Clark College Professors (four sessions per day, Monday-Wednesday). Healthcare Programs at Clark College

12:00 pm – 12:45 pm, Tuesday: “Healthcare Race - Minute to Win It” to learn about Clark College Healthcare programs and services

1:00 pm – 3:30 pm, Wednesday, June 26th: Celebration with family members and camp sponsors. Food, music, slideshow, Healthcare panelist speakers, and award announcements.

Where on the campus will the camp take place?

Monday and Wednesday: The camp will begin and end in Gaiser Student Center , at the middle of Campus . (Click the links for maps.) Campers will sign into and out of the camp and be served breakfast and lunch in Gaiser Student Center each day. On Wednesday, family members are invited to the camp celebration, and to enjoy lunch with their campers, from 1:00-3:30 in Gaiser Student Center.

Tuesday: The camp will begin and end at Clark WSUV Salmon Creek Campus. The event will be held at the Clark College at WSU Vancouver (CCW) Camper will sign into and out of the camp and be served breakfast and lunch and all activities held at the Clark College Building(Building B). Camper may be dropped off in the green parking lot #3. Follow the signs to Clark College Nursing and Allied Health Building.

How can students get to camp?

Clark College is located at 1933 Fort Vancouver Way, Vancouver, WA 98663. C-TRAN offers a free bus pass for youth: the “Youth Opportunity Pass .” Clark College is on several bus routes: 25 , the Vine , 6 , and 30 (click the links for maps). Parking is also free in Clark College parking lots. Parking lots Red 3, Green 1, and Green 2 are closest to Gaiser Hall (see this Campus Map ). Day 2, Tuesday June 25th will be located at WSU-Vancouver in the Clark College building (see https://www.vancouver.wsu.edu/campus-map-directions).

Do campers need to attend all three days of the camp?

Yes. We have food, supplies, and activities for a planned number of campers. If you sign up to attend the Healthcare Pathways camp, then you are signing up to attend all three days. We have limited space up to 80 students.

Do you require COVID-19 screening or Mask?

We do not currently require the COVID -19 screening or vaccination to attend the camp. Masks are optional at Clark College, both indoors and outdoors.

Will housing be provided for this camp?

No. This program is a day camp. No on- or off-campus housing will be provided for campers. Campers should arrive on campus between 8:00 and 8:30 am each day to check in, and will check out at 3:30 pm.
