Description

You’re invited to attend our Health Equity Learning Series luncheon on Thursday, July 23rd with a presentation from Denise Gonzales and Susan Wilger.

Denise Gonzales is program director of the Con Alma Health Foundation, where she has worked to advance health equity in rural communities in New Mexico, with a focus on health policy. Gonzales joined Con Alma in August 2014. She has devoted her career to promoting social justice and good health through nonprofits and philanthropy in New Mexico, including in her previous role as director of community philanthropy at the New Mexico Community Foundation.

Susan Wilger, MPAff, is the director of programs for the National Center for Frontier Communities (NCFC) based in Silver City, New Mexico. NCFC is the only national organization dedicated to frontier communities and serves as the central point of contact for referrals, information exchange, and networking among rural, geographically separated communities. Susan currently serves on the Board of the National Rural Health Association.

Ms. Gonzales and Ms. Wilger will discuss their experience in advancing health equity in rural communities, specifically highlighting key challenges and potential solutions.
