Training Description:

Join us for an insightful live webinar,Healing Through Play: A webinar to Addressing Childhood Trauma.This training is designed to equip professionals in the mental health field with effective play therapy techniques to address and heal childhood trauma. Participants will gain a deep understanding of trauma-informed play therapy, explore creative intervention strategies, and learn to build resilience in children.

During the training will discuss ways to help children who have experienced trauma using play therapy.


Learning Objectives:

1.List how to create a safe therapeutic environment for recognizing and addressing signs of childhood trauma in play therapy sessions.

2.Discuss diverse techniques, including expressive arts, for impactful and creative intervention in addressing childhood trauma in play therapy sessions.
3. Discuss how to develop culturally aware and ethically sound play therapy approaches for adapting interventions and navigating ethical considerations in practice.

You will also receive 3 CEUS from NBCC; Next Place Therapy Services is an approved provider #7270 and APT Provider #17-526. Check with your licensing boards.

Will I get a certicate?

Yes after completing an evaluation and quiz, you can receive a certificate for play therapy hours and NBCC CEUS.

What if a training is cancelled

If a training is cancelled, you will be notified with in 48 of the training full refunded. Trainings may can be cancelled if the minimum of participants is not signed up, the trainer is sick or emergency on the day of the training.

Sabra Starnes is a Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing for 23 years in the DMV area. She worked for 13 years in the District of Columbia Public School System as a School Social Worker.

She is the founder of Next Place Therapy Services a private practice that has offices in Largo, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

She became a Registered Play Therapist in 2003. And a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in 2015. She presents both in-person and online play therapy training towards becoming a Registered Play Therapist.
