Healing Hearts Teen Grief Support Group

Hi! I’m Jordan Thatcher, a Master Level Counseling Intern at Tri- Synergy Counseling, located in Brentwood TN. I care deeply about helping children, teenagers, and their families especially those dealing with grief and loss.

Grief and loss can be complicated for anyone of any age. Social support is one of the leading ways to support those who are experiencing grief. In this group, Teens will learn about what grief is and what it entails. They will have a safe comfortable environment to come to and express themselves and how they are feeling to others who are going through similar emotions. They will also learn coping skills and do activities to help them begin healing from their loss.

One of my areas of expertise is working with children and teens! I have worked with youth for 8 years in a variety of settings and was a teacher for years. I am offering a grief group experience for teenagers ages 13-18 who are grieving due to loss in any form of loss of someone they cared about. This could be loss of a loved one or someone they knew in general. This group will help teenagers receive social support as well as bereavement services. They will learn to develop coping skills and resources that will be effective in their journey to healing. This group will be an inexpensive group where your teenager can receive support from a mental health counseling intern. There are only 8 spots per group so make sure you sign up soon!

Who is this for?
Teens ages 13 - 18 who are grieving due to loss in any form of loss of someone they cared about. This could be loss of a loved one or someone they knew in general.

When?
We will start on May 23rd, 2024 and end on June 27th, 2024. They will be held every Thursday. Each session will last about 60 minutes for 6 weeks.

Times: Ages 13-18: 5:30-6:30pm

What to expect? Teens will be able to learn about how grief and loss works in the brain & body, process their feelings with each other, experience activities that will create forward momentum towards healing, learn skills that will help them work through this difficult time that they can take with them outside of the sessions, and be provided with weekly challenges to be completed in between sessions. Each session will be structured around healing, learning and practicing coping skills, and processing feelings as a group.
Disclamer: This group is not a therapy counseling group. At no time will particiaptes be assessed, diagnoses or treated for any mental health issues.

Your Investment: $90 for the entire 6-weeks. Financial assistance is available if needed. Send your financial assistance request or ask questions about this support group jordan@tri-synergycounselingtn.com. There are no cancellation refunds for missed sessions. This is an 6-week commitment.

Note: First come first serve with an option to be placed on a waiting list when the class is full. Payment is required on the date of registry. This is in order to hold your teens spot in the group. Refunds are 100% refundable until 30 days before the event date. If refund is requested two weeks before the start date 50% of the fee is refundable. Any request less than two weeks before group start date 0% will be refunded.
