About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Struggling to build stakeholder engagement for human-centered design work in your agency? Drawing on content from our new Stakeholder Engagement and Storytelling online course, this workshop explores the power of storytelling to build buy-in and alignment, while centering the voices of end users.

In this live, interactive session, we’ll share examples of how we use storytelling methods at Civilla to engage stakeholders and provide updates on projects. We’ll then share a basic framework you can apply to your own work. You'll learn how to cultivate trust, buy-in, and collaboration—all while centering the voices of people closest to the challenges you’re aiming to solve.

This will be an interactive event, so come ready to share your experiences, current challenges, and questions.

This workshop is for you if…you work in a public institution (at any level) and are curious about how to more effectively leverage the power of storytelling in your work.

What you’ll get:

  • Examples of storytelling in public-serving institutions, including: immersive experiences, journey maps, in-person presentations, photos, and quotes.
  • A chance to meet peers from other public-serving institutions.
  • An opportunity to connect with Civilla team members directly.
  • Guidance on how to continue your learning in HCD and storytelling.

What to know:

  • This workshop has two available dates and times: Tuesday, May 21st at 8am PT / 11am ET and Wednesday, May 29th at 9am PT/ 12pm ET.
  • The week prior to the workshop, we’ll send you a 10-minute video with examples of storytelling from a Civilla project. We’ll discuss the video in the workshop, so aim to watch it before the session.
  • Capacity is limited to allow for meaningful interaction. Please be sure to cancel your registration if your plans change to make room for others to join.
  • There will be breakouts. Attendees should plan to spend some time in active conversation with other attendees—ideally with cameras on!
