The HazMat Operations 470 program provides a comprehensive, hybrid training experience that prepares first responders to handle hazardous materials incidents with confidence and precision. Participants will engage in self-paced online modules, covering key topics such as chemical properties, spill containment, and safety protocols, followed by an intensive in-person skills weekend to practice and refine their techniques in real-world scenarios. This course is a prerequisite for the HazMat Technician 470 certification.
During the in-person skills weekend, taking place from May 16-18, students will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced instructors to demonstrate their proficiency in containment and mitigation strategies. This hands-on weekend ensures that participants are fully prepared to respond to HazMat emergencies with the latest techniques and industry standards. Whether you're a firefighter or an emergency responder, this program will provide the essential tools and training to safeguard both personnel and the community.
