Welcome!The Maryland Division of Labor and Industry (DLI) strives to make certain Maryland remains a safe and healthy place to live and work. Through its various units, DLI touches almost everyone in Maryland, from boiler and elevator safety, to workplace safety and health, to protecting employee wages and rights. The units within the Division of Labor and Industry include; Employment Standards Service (ESS), Living and Prevailing Wage, Worker Classification, Building Codes, Safety Inspection, and Maryland Occupational Safety and Health (MOSH). In addition to labor rules and regulations, DLI administers the state's work permits for minors programs and offers a variety of free training sessions and resources for workplace health and safety.
