Caffè Lena presents extraordinary music in an intimate setting steeped in history. It is widely recognized as the longest continuously operating folk music venue in the United States. The Library of Congress calls Caffè Lena “An American treasure,” and we have been recognized by The GRAMMY Foundation for our important contributions to the development of American music. Caffe Lena's programs are made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.

This is an extraordinary, deeply beautiful original music super group. Originally a trio made up of Brittney Haas (Crooked Still), Paul Kowert (Punch Brothers), and Jordan Tice, the group found that their sound was missing something. Mandolinist Dominick Leslie filled that spot and a perfect balance of sound was achieved.The outfit remains all instrumental, which means the listener’s attention is entirely focused on musicianship. The synergy among the four players is remarkable, with effortless flow between folk, country, jazz, Celtic and classical on top of a strong foundation of bluegrass.Hawktail's newest release, Unless (2018), is proof that this quartet has found its wings. Filled with a delicious mixture of live recordings, this album captures the crystalline perfection Hawktail's fans delight in.Before the show there will be a very special podcast interview with the band for Hangin' &amp; Sangin', a podcast and radio show hosted by music journalist Kelly McCartney. Hangin’ &amp; Sangin’ offers up casual conversation and acoustic performances by some of your favorite roots artists, from Americana to folk, country, blues, bluegrass, Southern soul, and rock &amp; roll.
