Youth Advisory Board (YAB), sponsored by Chief Financial Credit Union, is a kind and brave youth-led board composed of individuals ages 14-20, where new and creative ideas are embraced. Members have a passion to advocate for HAVEN’s mission to end domestic and sexual violence.
To be successful on the board, a member is expected to commit 2-3 hours monthly for board and committee meetings. All members must be available to attend the mandatory in person 2-day YAB Retreat on August 12th and 13th from 10 AM - 5 PM to be on the board this term. The purpose of this in-person retreat is to provide training about the prevention of sexual violence and intimate partner violence, give members time to begin planning their projects, and to build rapport with other members and advisors.
Members should have an excitement for communicating with other youth to accomplish project goals and have a passionate for social change.
