Join us Thursday, May 2nd at 6 pm, for the closing night of our Harry Potter Exhibition. View and purchase artworks by book cover artist Mary GrandPré, production designer Stuart Craig, and artist Jim Salvati—the talented individuals who brought the cover art, characters, designs, and special effects of the beloved series to life.

Stuart Craig:

British production designer Stuart Craig has left an indelible mark on modern cinema as a three-time Academy Award winner. His early work on films like "The Elephant Man" and "Gandhi" showcased his talent for crafting lush and spectacular settings, setting the stage for his legendary contributions to the Harry Potter film series. Craig designed the sets for all Harry Potter films, working closely with J.K. Rowling's vision. At Rowling's request, he collaborated with the Universal Creative team to design the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal's Islands of Adventure theme park, further cementing his legacy in the wizarding world.

Jim Salvati

Jim Salvati is a contemporary artist based in California. He is known for his unique style of painting, which combines traditional techniques with a modern aesthetic.

Salvati's breakthrough in the art world came when he began working with the Walt Disney Company, creating artwork for a range of Disney films and merchandise. His unique style, which blended elements of realism and impressionism, made him a sought-after artist within the company, and his work can be seen in many Disney classics such as The Lion King, Pocahontas, and Mulan. In addition to his work with Disney, Salvati has created artwork for various other clients, including Warner Bros., Lucasfilm, and Coca-Cola.

Mary GrandPré

Mary GrandPré is an American illustrator and artist best known for her work on the cover art and chapter illustrations of the Harry Potter book series. In the late 1990s, GrandPré was commissioned to create cover art for the American editions of the Harry Potter book series by author J.K. Rowling and publisher Scholastic. She went on to create iconic illustrations for all seven books, including the distinctive lettering of the title and the images of Harry, Ron, and Hermione that are instantly recognizable to fans of the series. In addition to her work on the Harry Potter books, GrandPré has illustrated many other children's books, including "Plum Fantastic" by Liz Garton Scanlon, "The Noisy Paint Box" by Barb Rosenstock, and "In the Shade of the Nispero Tree" by Carmen T. Bernier-Grand. She has also written and illustrated her own books, such as "Clever Beatrice" and "The Bunny, the Egg, and the Big Surprise." GrandPré's work has received numerous awards and accolades over the years, including the Caldecott Honor and the Gold Medal from the Society of Illustrators.
