Working Landscapes, in partnership with Lakay Farm and Bell Farm, will be hosting a free hands-on workshop where participants will learn:
-What silvopasture is, and how it can be applied to your farm
-The benefits of silvopasture and how it helps with conservation
-Tree and shrub selection for silvopasture
-How to develop a silvopasture plan
-A hands-on activity demonstrating how to plant trees and shrubs and protect them while they are being established,
-Participants will also gain hands-on experience to learn more about tree and shrub planting.
About the Instructor:
Jack Bell, of Bell Farm, has been practicing regenerative practices on his farm in Granville County since 2017, helping to regenerate his land from conventional tobacco production to a livestock farm that raises ruminant animals, chickens, and hogs using rotational grazing and silvopasture practices.
