Hands-On IEC 61850 Engineering with Basic Application Profiles Workshop
Learn about Basic Application Profiles (BAPs) and how they can be used to standardize and accelerate IEC 61850 system engineering.
During this 4-hour hands-on workshop, attendees will learn about Basic Application Profiles (BAPs) and how they can be used to standardize and accelerate IEC 61850 system engineering. Join Andreas Reuter, Director of Helinks STS, and Jackson Moore, Digital Substation Specialist at Triangle MicroWorks, as they guide participants through the modeling, simulation, testing, and validation of IEC 61850 applications using a top-down engineering approach.
Using the IEC 61850 engineering process as a roadmap, the workshop will walk through the different stages of system engineering, beginning with system profiling & BAP creation (ASD files) and progressing through realization and SCD file creation. Along the way, attendees will see how simulation and testing can be integrated throughout the engineering lifecycle to validate designs early and reduce commissioning risk.
This interactive workshop will include live demonstrations and hands-on exercises using software from Helinks and Triangle MicroWorks. Trial versions of the software will be provided, and attendees are encouraged to follow along on their own laptops if desired.
Participation is limited to 25 attendees to maintain an interactive learning environment. Early registration is recommended.
Lunch will be provided starting at 12 noon. The workshop will start after lunch and end at 5pm.
