Hands-On Honey Processing
The sweet conclusion to our beekeeping series!
Join us for Hands-On Honey Processing, a workshop that walks you through the entire journey of honey, from hive to jar!
We'll explore how to safely and effectively remove honeycomb from your beehive, discuss the essential tools needed for honey extraction, and guide you through each step of the process: de-capping frames, using a centrifuge, proper honey storage, and finally jarring and labeling your harvest.
Whether you're a beginner or brushing up on your skills, this workshop offers practical knowledge to help you confidently process your own honey!

About the Farm
Filbert Street Garden is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides a space for recreation and education, fights food apartheid, promote senvironmental justice, and supports urban wildlife. Filbert Street Garden was founded in 2010 as part of the City of Baltimore’s Adopt-a-Lot Program in an effort to mitigate the South Baltimore food desert. The one-acre plot was overgrown and full of trash, but the effort of community volunteers has transformed the space into an agrotourism location and public park popular for its goats and 4,000 sq ft native garden.
