Handiwork: Art, Craft, and the Space Between untethers conventional notions of “art” and “craft” through the works of 12 contemporary artists. These artists’ bridging of rigorous concepts and labor-intensive processes reference craft traditions from a contemporary perspective. While craft conventionally suggests artists working with clay, fiber, metal, and wood, these artists remix and upend tradition through unexpected material approaches.
