HACKtheMACHINE Seattle provides the opportunity for participants to get hands-on experience with the most pressing digital challenges faced by the U.S. Navy and experiment with equipment and data that is not readily available to the public.

This event is a chance for talented minds across the country to come together and learn what the U.S. Navy’s mission is all about while teaming up to solve crucial digital security challenges of today and the future. HACKtheMACHINE is the Blue Angels for Geeks!

- 3 INTERACTIVE TRACKS TO CHOOSE FROM -

TRACK 1 Maritime Capture the Flag

The world’s only competitive hacking event to take place using a custom suite of maritime electronics sensors to support a scored hacking challenge. This game includes radio frequency hacking to spoof navigation systems like AIS, GPS, and bridge-to-bridge radio. This iteration in Seattle will also feature a new industrial control system hacking challenge.

TRACK 2 Data Science & the Seven Seas

Contestants will be challenged to develop algorithms using maritime data including satellite tracking and electronic nautical charts to build collision prevention systems.

TRACK 3 Hack for the Oceans

The U.S. Navy has a new infrastructure as a service architecture aboard our ships and submarines but needs an app development community. Contestants will compete to build the ultimate app that runs on U.S. Navy infrastructure and helps the Navy coordinate with local and regional providers during humanitarian and ecological crises.
