We are excited to introduce HackMT 2026 hosted by the Middle Tennessee State Department of Computer Science. HackMT will be held at MTSU beginning at 6:00pm on Friday January 30, 2026 through Noon on Sunday, February 1, 2026. The purpose of the event is to gather software developers, visual designers, programmers, and computer/data science students from local universities and professionals from local industry to form teams to invent new web platforms, mobile apps, and electronic gadgets over 36, high intensity, uninterrupted hours. This annual event promises to be an excellent opportunity to learn new things, hone skills, and interact with students from MTSU and other universities as well as industry professionals.   • 4:30pm-6:00pm - VIP Sponsors Reception & Cocktail Hour
  • 5pm - Registration Check-in Opens (NOTE: First 150 Attendees to check in get swag!!!!)

  • 7pm - Opening Ceremonies and Choose Teams

MTSU (https://www.mtsu.edu/) boasts the largest computer science department in the state of Tennessee with 500+ majors and a top-notch graduate program in Computer Science (https://csc.mtsu.edu/). The department also works closely with the Computational and Data Sciences Ph.D. and Data Science B.S./M.S. programs. The B.S. in Computer Science, Professional Computer Science Concentration is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET (http://www.abet.org/). The deparment has recently expanded it's offerings to include a concentration in Cybersecurity, and has an exceptional career placement rate especially with business and industries in the Middle Tennessee area. The interaction between industry partners and MTSU students as well as other university students during HackMT offer business and industry the opportunity to observe the knowledge and skill sets of the students (i.e., future employees). Additionally, the interaction between industry and students also facilitates networking between students and business partners, while also supporting the business goal of attracting and retaining new talent to our region.
