Tickets are available to rent one of our kayaks or bring your own!

*NOTE: For those who would like to bring their own boats, traditional or PVC kayaks perform best in the waters of Laurel Hill. It is recommended that foldable kayaks be models that are specified as suitable for choppy water. Not every foldable kayak is appropriate or sturdy enough for live current/choppy water paddling. Inflatable kayaks are generally not recommended as they could risk puncture in the tall grasses and may be hindered if the wind gusts. If unsure, we recommend you rent one of ours.

Registration: $35 per paddler / $20 per paddler with own boat

  • Moonlight Paddles are for EXPERIENCED ADULTS ONLY (18+).
  • You may rent one of ours or bring your own!
  • All boats MUST have night navigation lights (limited supply available at Paddle Center).
  • All boats MUST carry a cell phone aboard. Waterproof pouches are available for purchase at Paddle Center.
  • Paddlers will be notified no less than 2 hours beforehand if any weather related conditions arise. In case the trip is called off due to weather, paddlers will be given the chance to rebook another trip, refund or credit in eventbrite.

Organized by

Founded in 1997 by Captain Bill Sheehan, Hackensack Riverkeeper is the leading environmental organization working on Hackensack River issues. The group engages in a fourfold strategy of environmental action, advocacy, education and enforcement in its work to protect, preserve and restore the Hackensack River Watershed. Our ongoing efforts mean protected wetlands, cleanups of toxic sites, restored habitats, better public access, and a new appreciation for the “River of Many Bends”!
