<h3>HackadayU is pleased to offer for <a href="https://hackaday.io/project/172292-introduction-to-reverse-engineering-with-ghidra" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Reverse Engineering with Ghidra</a>, with instructor Matthew Alt of <a href="https://www.voidstarsec.com/home" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Voidstar Security</a>. Fall session starts week of September 7, 2020.</h3>Classes are pre-recorded. People who register for this course will be emailed the links for these videos starting September 7. There will be two office hours for this course. Office Hours will be Monday, September 14th (6pm EDT) &amp; Thursday, October 1st (6pm EDT).Overview: The purpose of this course is to provide an introductory overview of how to reverse engineer software with Ghidra. This program will consist of multiple hands-on exercises and labs allowing the students to gain the practical skills necessary to reverse engineer software with Ghidra. All exercises will be written for a modern x86_64 target running Linux. After attending these sessions, students will be familiar with the basic analysis features that Ghidra provides and understand the steps involved to perform basic analysis of software programs.Schedule: The course will consist of four prerecorded videos that students may watch at their own pace, and an office hour where the instructor will be available for questions. Prerequisites: Students should be familiar with the C programming language and the concept of assembly language. Computer: Students will need a computer capable of running docker, with at least 8GB of RAM. Please download and install these prior to watching the class videos. Installation instructions are available on the websites for all.Operating System: Linux, Mac, WindowsAbout the instructor: Matthew is a reverse engineer with a focus on embedded systems. He began his career in the automotive performance industry, searching for vulnerabilities in engine control units and diagnostic implementations. While at MIT Lincoln Laboratory in the Cyber Systems Assessment Group Matthew acted as a team lead for a program that focused on embedded systems exploitation and reverse engineering. Matthew currently works as a security researcher for Caesar Creek Software and also provides training and assessments through <a href="https://www.voidstarsec.com/home" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">VoidStar Security</a>.
